Vacation Reflections

News

Taking this vacation has given me a lot of time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished, and where I want to go from here.  When I started blogging, I was always positive, upbeat and encouraging to those around me.  I enjoyed other people who had the same attitude, so I knew early on that I wanted to be the same enjoyable voice for others.  This isn’t as easy as it might seem.

Through negative comments, and negative people, I lost focus on what’s really important to me.  Being the positive force that helps people around me succeed.  I’m coming home tomorrow, and I’m doing it with a complete change of attitude.  I feel relaxed, refreshed, and for the first time in months… ready to continue the journey that I started just over a year ago.

So here is what I propose.

  • I’ll always take the high road on future comments, and I refuse to be pulled through the mud with the people that belong there.  A negative comment doesn’t always require a negative answer, so I’ll focus on creating a positive from a negative from here on out.
  • Negativity takes more time and energy than positivity.  I’m not going to focus on others.  From this day forward, if you want to be here, and be an active participant… great.  If not, find somewhere else to spread your negative propaganda.  I’ll be deleting more comments in the future because I don’t want a negative vibe to start to take over myself, or my readers.  That’s not to say you can’t disagree with me… just do it without being an idiot.
  • Other bloggers are no longer a focus of mine.  I don’t care what’s said, written, or spoken about me, Siteflipu.com, or anything else.  I’m here for one purpose, to teach you guys how to make money.  And the more time I spend responding to negative actions, the less time I have to make a positive impact.

Blogging is taking a negative turn, and I refuse to be a part of it.  In short, I can’t wait to get back and start working again to create something bigger!

    Here here!

Well said Bryan. I know I have a tendancy to agree with a lot of things you say but I truly echo your feelings on this one. I have always admired the way you dealt with such an awful lot of unwarranted abuse and it’s pleasing to see that you have not let it get you down. I’ve noticed a lot of negativity in the blogging world recently and I’m glad that you are prepared to rise above it.

Here’s to better things to come!!

Thanks AP. We’ve got a good core here, and it helps keep me grounded. I’ll continue doing what I love, which is teaching others, and they can say what they’d like. We’ll see who has the last laugh.

@Bryan: Good idea, great post, and better attitude. You’re the man and we know it. Like I told Aaron over at FTB about the movie 300… I’d rather have a few really great bloggers, than a truck load of crappy ones. Keep it up dude! We’re all counting on ya… I know I am.

I feel the same way. I’d rather 10 readers that were passionate about what they were doing, than having 1,000’s of people that want to spew negativity.

I totally agree. It is difficult sometimes when people are just rude, instead of contributing to a blog. I like the philosophy. Keep it up.

Right. I don’t mind discussion, and I’m not saying that you should all be mindless drones and agree with me at all times. I encourage thought… not idiotic banter.

That actually sounds like the best way to go. People come here to read about site flipping, not about other bloggers or your arguments with them (and I say that as someone who has sent a negative comment your way in the past and discussed other bloggers in your comments…)

I think there is a place for discussing other bloggers and their methods (good as well as bad), but siteflipu.com isn’t it. Here people are interested in how you go about site flipping and ways which could work for them.

    Welcome back

Definitely agree with you Zania. I’ll go back to doing what I’m good at!
