I get a TON of email daily, and sometimes I feel like the answers I give via email are better served if I can blog about them.  So, a weekly segment will now include SFU reader email.  I’ll be able to answer questions, and share inspirational stories that I get in email every day.  Now, it can provide beneficial to everyone.

So, if you have a question, you can email me, or ask it in the forums and I’ll be sure to answer it as soon as I can.  Just know, that you may end up here.  I won’t post any names unless you specifically ask me to or unless I ask you, that way I can retain some sort of privacy to my email.  Plus you can now ask questions without worry about ridicule… completely anonymous.  You can always take credit for the email in the comment field if it was written by you

Let’s check my email this week.

Super Success Story!

Hi Bryan,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks for the content you
provide here.

I happened across your blog 2 weeks ago and read through the whole thing.  It
got me to thinking about the value of a skin care blog I created in January.  I
put it on Sitepoint and it sold for $15,000.  I am beside myself with
excitement.

I am sharing this with you, not to brag, but to let you know that you really
are helping people make money online.

Having sold my first site, I have another revenue stream opened up to me. I am
going to be on the lookout for blogs to “fix-up” and sell in additional to
working on my long term projects.

Best of luck to you on your 24 hour challenge.

These are my favorite kinds of emails.  Thanks for sharing this with us!  I’m super excited that you got such a huge amount for your blog in a short period of time.  This reader has given me permission to use his name, which is Greg, and you can check out his Sitepoint auction here.  Congrats, and thanks again for the great email.  Hopefully you’ll inspire some people to take the next step and start making some money online.

Traffic Question

Bryan,

I love your blog, but I have one question.  How do you always manage such great amounts of traffic when selling these new blogs?  For you to get 400-500 unique visitors a day to a site that’s 30 days old is pretty impressive.  Share this secret with me?

Actually, this isn’t much of a secret.  I’ve shared it already on the blog.  If you want to learn more, check out my article - Building Traffic Quickly.

That’ll do it for this segment.  Remember, if you have a question, feel free to contact me and I’ll be sure to answer it as quickly as possible.

It’s fantastic how Greg got $15,000 for his skin care blog, it having a .info domain extension, and being fairly new. He states a good chunk of traffic/revenue was grasped from article marketing. Very nicely done!

Great sale! Impressive revenue for his blog. It just puts me to total shame.

    Wow! Truly inspirational.

I thought you guys might like that. It’s definitely cool to see someone get such a great amount on a site that any of us could make. It’s inspirational!

Thank you for the kind words Missy. I want you to know that you helped me too. I found your site through here as well and I found your post about having your other site stolen. It was because of that I specified Escrow in the auction. If not for you I probably would have accepted PayPal. In the end though, the buyer wired the money directly to my bank account.

Also I heard you say that another auction sold quickly due to the sales letter, so I tried to give a little extra attention to that.

Thanks for your help, even though you didn’t know you were giving it

Greg you have really made my day with your comment. I’m very happy to hear that i helped you, that is priceless.

I’m glad you read my post and that you got something valuable from it. That was my intention when i wrote it. It sucks to work hard on a blog for over a year, and in one transaction lose it all.

Thanxs again for YOUR kind words. You made my night.

I think you’ve both made my day! I love stories like this one. It’s what the blogosphere used to be like, people helping people. Now it’s pretty cutthroat.
