For those of you that are new here, you should probably know that I don’t like to work weekends. It’s one of the many perks I get working at home, so SFU is very rarely updated on Saturday, or Sunday. Well, this week you had to throw Monday in because it was a holliday, and that left a lot of you wondering what was going on. Well, I’m here to tell you!
PB Update
I talked to PB on the phone yesterday, and he’s in good spirits. He’s anxiously awaiting his return to New Orleans, pending the release of the damage report. Gustav didn’t turn out to be the catastrophic event we were all thinking it would, and the media has even dubbed it “a big thunderstorm”. That said, New Orleans isn’t out of the water just yet, no pun intended. During Katrina, it wasn’t the hurricane that did them in, it was the heavy rainfall afterward, so they aren’t out of the woods yet, but it’s looking like they might be okay. The levees held, and the city isn’t underwater, so looks like our prayers were answered on that account. I’m looking forward to having PB’s ugly mug back and commenting as soon as possible.
News
Another piece of news is that Vic, from Blogger Unleashed, and I have quashed our feud, and we did so to help a blogger in need. Vic sent me 5 really great domain names, and the goal was to have me flip them, and send the money to charity, so that we could help out the hurricane victims. It’s not looking like we’ll need to do that, so Vic, I’ll send your domains back to you asap. For those of you that have any history with either of us, you’ll know that we’ve been feuding for quite a while, but it’s easy to put that stuff aside when there are others in need. We talked on Skype for over an hour, and put to rest a feud that was pretty crazy from the beginning. Honestly, I’m glad it’s over. It takes a lot more energy to dislike someone, than it does to just accept them.
Contest
The contest will start this Friday, and you can register your domains as of Friday at 12:01 am Central time. NOT BEFORE THEN!
I want to thank all of you that are participating, and I hope we all make some cash on this one. The hardest part of doing anything new, is actually doing it. I’m really proud of the contestants for taking the first, and hardest step. You can read blogs about how to make money online all day, every day, but until you take the first step, all that knowledge does you nothing. You just have to get out there and do it, even if you do it wrong, just make an attempt and tweak as you go. So congrats to those that have placed their faith in me, and are ready to make some cash using the methods that I teach.

glad to see the hatchet has been buried between some intelligent MMO bloggers. to be honest i have been reading both of you (regardless of bad blood) because i believe you both have a lot to offer.
and not to be rude, but i’m not going to rob myself of knowledge because two sources are arguing
but i’m glad all is right with the world now
oh and after our last email, i am looking a little more seriously at a quick blog flip. one of my new experiment sites came together extremely well and very quickly. Looks like I might be able to make an attempt at my first flip in the next few weeks
thanks for the advice!!

BC,
Glad to hear PB isn’t in as much water as we all thought. Good to have some good news on that front. I watch Vic’s video and dude really felt bad for PB. That was refreshing.
I wasn’t aware of the beef between y’all, but glad it’s over and the only beef around is the steak on a plate. You are right, it takes much more energy to be mad at someone than to accept them.
Finally, the contest is here! Yippeeee!!! It is going to be fun and applying the information is definately what it is all about. This should be my second flip by the time it is over.
I am finishing up the site I have been talking about flipping and looking to load it on SitePoint this week for sale.
Wish me luck!

Hi guys. I’m on my cell so this will be short. I’ve got two feet of water according to my cousin who is a NOPD officer. Bad, but not as bad as Katrina. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts they mean the world to me. Have tons to say, but it has to wait for now.
I’m in Atlanta, GA and planning on heading home on Thursday unless we’re not permitted. God Bless all of you and thank you.
Talk soon - PB

Ryan reply on September 2nd, 2008:
Great man! Yeah it could be A LOT worse than 2 feet, so I would definitely consider that a blessing. Great to hear that. I bet you can’t wait to get home.

PB: I’m glad you (and your family) are well. This was definitely a more kinder gentler hurricane.
Regarding the content, i’m looking forward to it. Glad it’s back on.

Glad to know. All that internet drama might be funny for a while but it gets old real fast.

That last piece of advice you gave was really good. Knowledge does nothing unless you put it into action.

Good to hear everything is going well. However,
I don’t understand why you don’t write an extra article or two during the week and then have them AUTOMATICALLY posted on Saturday and Sunday. It would mean more readers and more money but you still wouldn’t have to work weekends.

Bryan Clark reply on September 3rd, 2008:
I promise you, two extra posts per week aren’t going to make or break me.

I’m a bit late commenting on this one but I will anyhow
I am so glad to see that you and Vic have sorted out your differences. Like the others here say, you both have much to offer - 2 different perspectives maybe, but still both very worthwhile. I know the fued got really bad, and caused a lot of ill feeling all over the place, so I am really, really glad it’s finished.
And about PB(or whatever he is going to have to call himself now…). I’m pleased he is okay and look forward with interest to his next exploits on the internet
The contest? I am concentrating on building my own blogs nowadays (the ones which actually make me money…), so all contests and collaborations I am putting on the back burner for a while.
But I will still watch the results with interest
