I thought I’d try to include everyone in my vacation by showing some photos that I’ve taken so far. I’ve got tons of them, ranging from good to terrible, and have only begun to download them to the computer. I’ll share with you some of them that I like. Enjoy! Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday! The big 2-6
Oh, funny story for you. Our plans were to stay at the Westin Hotel and Resort, but we found out when we got to St. Thomas, that the Westin is in St. John (There are three islands that make up the Virgin Islands - St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix). So, we kindly got them to move our reservation back a few days, found a place to stay in St. Thomas, and we just got to St. John today. Talk about being an idiot!
A view of the green water from our boat ride. You can rent everything from foot peddled boats, to jet ski’s. However, I thought the foot powered one might be a bit safer for my camera!
Trunk bay.
View from the hilltop of Trunk bay. I’ve noticed that the water is always a beautiful shade of blue or green, but the further you get from the water, the bluer it looks, even though in this case up close, that same water was green! We were told by the front desk person that this is probably the spot where the most photos are taken in all of the Virgin Islands. I can see why! It’s surrounded by trees all the way up, and then it has this wonderful clearing at the top that’s about 20 feet wide. Gorgeous!
My new buddy. I don’t think he liked me much, but he was cordial nonetheless. Found this guy at the bottom of the hill (from the previous picture).
St. Johns Bay. That’s right, they aren’t just a crappy clothes company. Another spot recommended by a person at our hotel. You can actually see our hotel in the distance, although I can’t tell which one it is… they all look the same from up here. This is another place where you can’t see much of anything until you get to the top. And then the entire top is cleared of trees… I would guess for tourists like me to take photos.
Here is the view from our hotel room. It’s only 2 floors up, but the view is magnificent. We are right above a small marina, which is home to mostly sailboats.
I named him Eddie! Eddie Lizard.
It rained all day today. You can see the clouds starting to break here, which is right around the time it stopped raining. It rains every day around 1pm, but it’s a nice refreshing rain that only lasts 30 minutes or so. It’s odd, because there isn’t a cloud in the sky some of the times that the rain comes. Here is the same marina pictured in the photo above. As you can see, it’s not very big, and it’s usually empty during the day. The boats seen are from delivery people who bring goods from island to island during the day. Not a bad job!

Myabe it would be cool to do a BIG ol’ get together in the next few months and we can all meet up at the beach? Sound good to me… but I’d better get me fat ass back in the gym with the quickness!

Gorgeous Beach Photos. The beach as you may (or may not) know is my “happy place”, as you can see from my avatar.
Happy B-Day and Enjoy! St John.
