I am now in the process of doing the grunt work of building up my soon-to-be-flipped blog.  I have a long list of non-reciprocal website directories that I am planning to submit to.

My question is, is it effective to just submit to the ones that don't require a link back to them?  Some of them don't require it, but they do request it, so what is the benefit here to me?  If that makes it get listed sooner I guess it is worth it, but what has been you guys' experience with this?

Thanks -

It's always more beneficial to get a link that isn't reciprocal.  If you have to wait it out (which you usually do either way), it's worth it.  Take the one way links rather than trading whenever possible.

What about services such as:
http://www.cheapdirectorysubmission.com/

They are saying that they will manually submit my site to 200 directories for $10.  That is obviously worth it, if they actually do it.  Seems like this would be pretty easy to verify.  Anyone had any experience, good or bad, with services such as this?

I know that reputable services exist... at least in theory, and the word of others.  I have never had a good result with these types of sites though.  I'm sure that you can find out more if you do a search at http://forums.digitalpoint.com

$10 is a low risk investment... give it a try.
