Title: Opinion on blog content
Post by: msalada on September 27, 2008, 07:13:14 PM
I have been lurking around this blog and forum for a few weeks and have great interest in flipping blogs. I have a question about content.

I will be writing most of my own content in the beginning. I need some opinions or advice about writing about personal experiences on blogs that you plan to sell. I am not talking about writing about my day to day life. These would be things that are on topic with the blog. Or would I be better off sticking with a professional and factual style? I believe that a less formal and personal style appeals more to readers, but it may not appeal to a buyer.

Also, I would like to know where I can get images at little or no cost.

Bryan, I would be interested in knowing where you get the images you use on your blog?

I am anxiously awaiting the release of the blog flipping blueprint.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this question.  I've been super busy trying to get the blog flipping blueprint done by it's release date (wednesday).

To answer your questions, I think that really depends on the niche. If it is a news type site, you should stick to the non personal. If it's a personal site that deals with a specific niche, go ahead and let yourself go.  Buyers generally aren't scared off by this unless the blog is just too personal.

A great source for images (free) is http://sxc.hu

Most of my images are bought from iStockphoto.com - but you can definitely go with free images.
